Amish folded star Hot pad tutorial

So I found this wonderful tutorial on Youtube. I thought it would be complicated, but it wasn't. This is a pic of my first one. My only mistake was the binding not being cut on the bias. 😕

First one took over an hour, now I have an assembly line. I am making these for my quilt guild to sell at our quilt show. The tutorial is here. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KCGJXmimgKs

On to the next one....

Sent this to the quilter today.  It is entirely to big for me to try to quilt on my machine.  I have taken the class to machine quilt my quilts (twice), I guess I am fearful that I will make a mess of them.  Lord knows I don't want to have to take stitches out.  So for now I will leave my quilting to the professionals!!

Sashing debate....

Green Paisley
Grey abstract.

I have been sitting on my thumbs trying to figure out which center sashing I should use...I love the grey but I think the green paisley  wins! Since I will be using it for most of the backing it only makes sense.

My portable board is too small, I will be going to the hardware store today too make a bigger one!!

Trying out sashing...

Today I  received my last block. .....I guess I should've waited. Now I have one extra, maybe I will put it on the back. I can't imagine making one pillow?.?. So there are two fabrics I am auditioning for the sash. Dark purple and silver. There are actually silver threads running through this fabric. When I ordered it, I didn't expect it to be so rich looking.  Here they are.

Supernova progress

Ok
....so I  finally finished all of my squares plus extra. We were suppose to swap 5 blocks with our partners, 10 blocks was not enough for me to make a quilt. My partner had a family issue so I am missing a block; but that is OK life happens!! Here are a few of them. Tomorrow I will sew them together.
